Overseas Flights

I was searching for a return flight for 1 adult to Canada from London heathrow. I was getting average quotes of £700.

However when i search from Dublin (IRE) to Canada, i was getting a good return price average £400.

I was interested in the Dublin one, as i can get Rynair from any UK airport to Dublin return @ £45, and then take the Canada one from Dublin. Thus saving about £200

My question to the members of the forum is?

Will i not get into trouble if i fly to Dublin to connect the Canada flight from the tax man or airlines?

Another interesting point is that the flight from Dublin to Canada goes or connects @ London heathrow en-route to Canada.

Even though i am supposed to board this flight in Dublin, cant i just go to heathrow rather than going to Dublin & back to heathrow to connect the Canada one.

Kindly advise.

No, you can't just turn up at Heathrow and get on the Canada flight - your ticket will be cancelled if you do not depart from Dublin.

There is no problem with you making your own way to Dublin and starting your journey from there. You must however leave sufficient time between flights in case of delay or cancellation.

No issues with with going to Dublin and then on to Canada. They have a much lower tax regime hence prices are lower. The risk however is that if your flight out from the UK to Dublin is delayed etc then there is no assistance or liability to the subsequent flight.

You wouldnt have a boarding pass for London to Heathrow and so wouldnt be able to board the plane at Heathrow. Your unlikely to be able to get through security either as even if you bought a BA LHR to DUB rather than a Ryan Air one as UK & Ire flights depart from a separate terminal with different protocols.
