How will children learn the value of books and how to read, expression and grammar if they are stuck in front of an electronic talking teddy/
Where's the close time with mum or dad reading?
Not a toy I would ever buy for those reasons...
yes, kids watch TV, but why give them the oppurtunity to slob about even more than most kids already do?

I don't think it'll be that popular. Just a load of hype from a marketing team at the moment.
I seem to remember woolies say their sindy exclusive was going to be "the toy" around this time last year.
I would go for something to do with Transformers Movie since the dvd should be out around then or flying insects, but you never can tell at this time of year.

The problem with manufacturing solely in China is that, should the demand outsrip supply, it's normally a 7 week or so wait until another shipment can be delivered. (sceptical mode) I think toy manufacturers sometimes engineer these so-called shortages to make the toy seem more desirable. It's a profitable scam, deliberatley limit the initial batch, create a buzz, get people thinking they MUST have this toy, get ebayers into it who end up buying loads to sell on thinking there won't be enough to go round at Xmas...then release a huge number of said toy in the run up to Xmas. Job done.

I agree, and of course the marketing boys can then put them on eBay, buy them from each other at inflated prices and then everyone thinks they will make a killing. If you actually stop and think about it - £60 for a teddy bear (worth about £3) with a built in media player? Ask yourself how much a 512mb media player is worth?

i think it will be hot only because of the telly and the fact that the press like it im with duncan i think its crap and just another way to make your child into a zombe.

The toy for Christmas this year will be Pleo. PRE-ORDERS from the manufacturer in the states have sold out until 2008.

£250 though - out here in october. Likely to sell out fast. Got my prorder in 2 months ago when it was supposed to be released in June...

As the only console this year is xbox elite (thats new) id say kids will be after this one...
