Hello all.
I recently recieved a email from wonga regarding a complaint I put forward in dec 2014. Long story short, I should never of been allowed the loans I previously had and they've agreed that all my loans from 2011-2014 were incorrectly given to me.
They've offered to refund me all my interest paid on these loans.
I've since accepted this offer.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has had any joy in regard to this?

In these circumstances I actually feel sorry for the lenders. (Apologies if I have misrepresented the situation.)loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
I am a smoker and have written to the manufacturer explaining that they should not have sold me cigarettes knowing they are bad for my health!! I demand a full refund for my choices!
That's how stupid these claims are, it's lucky Wonga are so scared of the regulator else people would have to face up to their responsibilities more and we wouldn't want that0 -
To turn it, can you confirm if you were receiving national minimum wage (you know properly living on the bottom) as part of the er, employment status, to get this compo??? I've noticed how this small detail, well, it never factors in to these kind of posts, how were people getting loans if they could so apparently, not afford them? then. To get compo now it is people telling the truth when they weren't on the loan applications?
Ooooh I'll await your reply which I appreciate may not be answered. Thanks as I am baffled.0 -
It is all about a free lunch Britain with this type of claim, Oh poor me I cannot afford the loan and yet will take one anyway in the hopes that I can go back and con the lender out of a profit made due to my own bad behaviour and inept ability to manage my own finances properly. Wrong on so many levels this is and people should be ashamed of themselves.0

Threads like this reaffirm the need for credit blacklisting.
I'd put the OP on that list permanently until he/she can start accepting responsibility for their actions. Wonga were good enough when you needed them, and instead of recognizing that & saying thank you - you argue that they shouldn't really treat you like an adult capable of making decisions.0 -
I echo the above posts wholeheartedly, but when I post things like that I get PPR'd lol0

Presumably you managed to pay all these loans back (given that you had a number of loans offered by them) thereby proving that you could afford to manage the loans. Yet because you should have come up as not being able to manage the loans you now get compensation.
In these circumstances I actually feel sorry for the lenders. (Apologies if I have misrepresented the situation.)
Ironically, the very type of people who are now scrambling around for refunds from Wonga and the like for mis-sold loans are going to be the first to complain when these companies stop offering credit to their type, as they won't be able to get credit anywhere."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0 -

I think the clowns who run this forum are far too sympathetic to this kind of post. It's almost as if those guys waving the banning stick are also looking for an easy way out of debt.
It's why I don't post in here too much, I think my very first post in the Loans forum got me a warning.
Makes you question what the term forum actually means when it is governed they way it is.0
