Prospective buyer has no paypal account

I've got a low value item listed and I've just had a message to say they can't bid on it as they are blocked. I asked why they are blocked, they say they have no paypal account ( they have about 500 feedback) but they can pay by paypal as a guest. Does this sound right? Should I lift the block?

Just be extra careful that ebay/paypal say its safe to post.

Paypal is pretty easy to sign up for, Ask yourself the reason why they dont want to?

When you checkout as a guest you cannot open a case within ebay...

For a low value item, I leave the block in place.
For a higher value, I definitely leave the block in place - & the lad who wanted to buy sorted a paypal account.

This isn't so much a block on the bidder (blocked bidder list) as your own preferences in the buyer block prefs preventing a type of bidder from buying.

    http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences

If you go there you should see you have this ticked….
    Buyers without a PayPal account
Block buyers who don't have a PayPal account. (Note: This block only applies to future listings and can be disabled per item on the Sell Your Item form.)
This requirement can help you to reduce the risk of unpaid items, as PayPal account holders have up to an 80% lower unpaid item rate.

It's a good preference if you have scammable items as it cuts down on the Nigerian bidders etc or if you get lots of NPB'ers.

If you don't and as you say, it is a low value item I would lift the preference for that item, or add them to your exempt list in order they bypass the block. All you are risking is the chance they won't pay.

Ok thanks, I haven't got any other bids on it and it ends Easter Sunday so I will exempt them and allow them to bid
