Hangin curtains from the ceiling!

I want to use curtains to screen off part of a room but don't know what sort of rail/runner could be used for this as it would have to go along the ceiling. Any help/advice would be appreciated - thanks.

Depending on your set-up, you could use coated wire from your local curtain-type place. It's about 4mm thick and usually white, and you can screw hooks and eyes into the end as well as threading it through eyes.

I used it as a very cheap and easy solution to curtain off a room in my old house - Three eyes screwed into the ceiling (one at either end and one in the middle), then the wire threaded through with hooks at each end and stretched to the max so it's taught.

You might want a more posh look by using a curtain pole instead, but to be honest you can't tell it's there once the curtains are up - it was ideal for me because I'm rubbish at DIY and I wanted them to meet the ceiling!

Can you not just screw a wooden batton onto the ceiling and then use a "normal" curtain rail that screws into that? ;)

From this website it looks like Swish do "extension arms" to allow it to fix to a ceiling.

Swish are the general ones you can buy from curtain shops or haberdashery shops (if there are still any about)
