    Hi Richard,
    Thanks for your reply.
I am fine on her having the shares they only acquait to around £600,even less when tax, commission etc is taken into account, they are shares in a large supermarket group,i offered to send her all details on them and she declined my offer, saying she could obtain all information needed,to be really honest she did not sound to clued up on my case as she asked what i had done with all my cards and then realised that i had sent them to her,i hope she was just trying to scare me as i don't have an abundance of spare money even after all of this.
    thanks in advance

    Lisa,

This has all the hall marks of a load of bullsh1te. I think you should be prepared to justify and defend your budget when (or more likely if) the time comes, but really she's gone out of her way to frighten you; don't give her that satisfaction. If you stay positive you'll be more able to cope with any further questions anyway. I'd open a bottle of your favourite tipple; have a well earned drink and relax.

Hi Richard, She said that i will have to pay into the bancruptcy and she will look at it in 4 months, she was just like i wont allow this that and the other and i would probably knock £100 off your housekeeping,do you think this was to scare me.Do you think that i may not hear from her again she was very sketchy with everthing, she even asked if my partner who is ill could go back into work,he isn't bancrupt,i think i spoke to the OR assistant today as she has a different name than the OR on the letters they sent, who would make the final decisions the OR'S assistant or the OR.Im trying to relax.thanks in advance

    Hi Lisa,

You only have to do what you can afford to do, and there's no way she could accurately ascertain that from one meeting. It sounds like a lot of bluster to justify a bad mood or inadequate knowledge and experience. I'm not trivialising the powers that the O.R's have but they are obliged to leave you with a manageable budget. Talk of knocking off £100 here and £100 there rather than asking in depth questions aout your personal circumstances does sound like more bravado than brains.

I'm trying to get you to relax because there are so many frightening things said at this stage that never happen. It's an awful situation and the only way you can address it is, by believing in your right to provide for your family; nobody can take that basic human right away.

I'm not the worrying type but after our interview I though, phew, looks like I'll have the flying squad on the door in the morning. I spent that night burying our priceless antiques in anticipation but it never happened.:D :D Now I can't remember where I buried them.

That's the beauty of a forum like this Lisa,

We've all been through it, or soon will be, and everybody's experience is different to a greater or lesser degree, it's all relevant and it all helps people who come to this site looking for support and advice. It's so easy for me to say "don't worry, it'll be alright" I have to convince you of the reasons why it'll be alright. Another few months you'll be thinking "why did I worry so much"? That, I'm afraid is just one of the downsides to being human.

I'd guess when you get up in the morning your sub conscious, unconscious mind will have been whirring away and you'll probably see things more clearly; either that or you'll have another load of queries.:D :D

You'll just have to console yourself with having a bad day and be secure in the knowledge that things will improve; they always do.

Hope you manage to have a good night and post again in the morning.

    Richard

I said exactly the same thing the other day................ we're not quite at your stage yet, and the tensions and stresses of it all are mounting up  I just keep reading the forum and listening to what others say, and take comfort from it. :T Keep posting!!

I think Christmas presents would be classed as discretionary spend.

Remember, that after deducting 'essential' spend, the IPI is usually 2/3 or less of what is left, so you are given some money for discretionary stuff like a night out, presents, gifts etc.

This isn't unreasonable. You owe people a lot of money and are going to have to be creative with christmas presents if there is not enough left over - just make sure you have claimed for everything possible and allowed, such as a holiday, to make sure you don't pay more than you have to.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
