HPI car check - is there an alternative source
HPI car check - is there an alternative source
hi all
i am going to buy a car from a dealer, but it has a ding on a corner
my suspicious mind asks me "now what is afoot 'ere then?"
the car is a good price, not the best, but certainly not the too pricey
i wanted to check the car with HPI but they charge £39
now as a forever saver, i thought there must be some source on the net to check and hence i look to you all fellow savers
have any of you got any suggestions?
anything much appreciated

Isnt the HPI check for outstanding credit on the car? it also verifies the make & model (to see if its been modified or a ringer) but a dent doesn't neccesarily point to either of these does it?
If it's been in a major its unlikely to have any dings at all (unless it is an expensive model, in which case its been known for dodgy fixers/dealers to put a small amount of damage somewhere to justify the knock-down price).
best thing to verify a genuine car is the history (although not fool-proof). make sure all the receipts tally milage where written, if it has all the previous M.O.T.'S which show different amounts of age/wear/stamp type/garage.
If there's no history just take it at face value. do the bonnet/door lines run paralell? any signs of spray paint particles inside the boot/door pillars etc? have the screws which hold the clocks been tampered with?
hope this helps.Multi-tasking is a way of ensuring you don't enjoy any of them.0
