A final update. So eventually after getting round to writing to BC which I hadn't done before because, well to be honest there are more important things in life, I have a result.

I wrote to them last week and within 5 working days I had contact from their customer relationship team. A pleasant ten minute phone call which the person on the other end received efficiently and with obvious knowledge, a short check of my files and a call back to confirm that I should have been defaulted in January 2014 (3 months after the start of my DMP).

Result!

Confirmation to follow in writing and my credit files updated in the next few weeks.

Very pleased.
