You do know M&S also requires a "pass"?

    Yeah, I do thanks.

    I can manage with one!

Just wouldn't be over the moon if all my accounts required one.

As far as I can seen M&S don't need any sort of monthly minimum funding. Hence my decision.

The M&S Bank account seems the best one to go with, as I don't think First Direct or HSBC would take me on! they're bloody annoying those little security keyboards,

FD and HSBC have apps that can replace the annoying little security keyboards. M&S does not. They still need the annoying thing.

He is if he read my post, which he quoted ;).

OP, Nationwide requires a card reader in some circumstances. How have you managed without one?

Hopefully he did, because I clearly didn't!

I can cope with the passes for setting up new payees etc, but hate them with a vengeance for being required to simply log in to my account(s)!

They can call it 'The Cuddliest Little Special Lovable M&S Pass On The Planet' and I still hate the damned thing with a vengeance! Love their 6% RS though

Hey Badger, I have indeed - because I could not remember my pin for the Flex Direct card when first setting up.

I went into branch, and set up a Payee (myself) the old fashioned way over the counter, and now I can use the Mobile App without the need for the card reader.

    Me too!

Mine snuggles up with a similar gadget from YB and card readers from Nationwide, Co-op and Natwest. I avoid using any of them unless absolutely essential and prefer the much simpler express login on my phone. Fewer characters to remember :o

The worst ever though, has to be the grid card from Coventry. My ageing brain just couldn't cope with the complexity of the multiple columns/rows

Don't know about others, but you can login to Nationwide without the card reader.

Indeed you can, but you need it to set up a new payee.
