cannot remove halogen spot to replace bulb

We have 4 halogen Gu10 down lighter spots on a strip in our kitchen (from wickes) . To replace halogen element you have to remove bulb housing from mount using af rubber suction cap. First time was tricky but we managed in the end.
Problem is that suction cap pulls glass cover off bulb housing but leaves rest of bulb including halogen element still in its bulb housing on the mounting strip. Second time around same thing happened - Glass front came away from bulb housing and this time we cannot get housing free from mount. We cannot return it as it is all wired into the ceiling.
Anyone else had this problem and got any tips?

Use a pair of pliers to remove the remaining parts of the bulb by rotating it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Maybe this would help? I use one of these and it's never failed to get a halogen out - http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/PAR-Halogen-Bulb-Removal-Tool/36-45500 -
If you can't get the lamp out that way take the fitting out of the ceiling carefully, they'll only be held in place with spring clips so mind your finger out of the way.
Once it's out of the ceiling it'll make it a lot easier to either get your fingers in there to turn the GU10 of use a pair of long nose pliers.
Goes without saying though .... make sure the leccy is off when sticking anything inside the fitting !You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

Its not that type of fitting this is a surface track fitting not individual recessed fittings. should easily come out with a slight push up and a twist.0
