Hi all, need some advice. I want to open a bank account for my 14.5 year old son that has a debit card. It will be his first bank account and so hopefully teach him a little about saving and spending responsibly etc.

Do I need to apply for an account for him with the bank I am currently with (Santander) or does that matter.

If so what are the best accounts with a debit card for a teenager?

Nearly forgot and it must be a "free" account no fees.

Many thanks in advanced for any advice offered.
