Have just completed online form to cancel my mums carers allowance.
How long does it the cancellation to be completed by the dwp, as I am going to apply for IS10, severe disability premium as I receive dla middle care, receive esa support group, and live alone with my 4 year old boy.
Thanks in advance for your comments:)

Carer's Allowance is usually paid one week in advance - you need to check this with your mum.
So that your mum doesn't receive an overpayment you would need to start your SDP at the end of the CA claim.
Since you will have to complete a form for the SDP it is worth telephoning them and asking now. There is probably a part saying when you want it to start.0 -

DWP are quite savvy now when it comes to issuing payments, They will look at previous payments issued to a claimant and offset the difference in whats owed to the claimant, That way it stops overpayments.0
