My experience

Applied for Credit Card using this site to get free £30 voucher. The process was not timely and communication poor. I have the card and PIN now and hope the process of claiming the voucher works?

I got the PIN and waited and waited for the card. I called M&S bank to say it had been sent, waited.

One morning Royal Mail left card to say ''can't deliver your item because there is a fee to pay'. I paid the fee £1.11 online via RM for item to be delivered to me fully expecting it to be personal mail…..when it arrive it was the M&S credit card and bumpf?

Called M&S bank …(sounded like a overseas call centre?) and was told the 'third party' delivering mail is at fault, I asked ''Royal Mail?'' but could not ascertain an answer?

I felt my query was not understood but the nature of complaint was. I was told I would be given 300 M&S points on card as compensation.

I contacted Royal Mail they were able to ascertain I was charged because M&S didn't use a large stamp! (amended post)

Good Luck all.

Sounds like an over zealous postman/sorting office. No provider sends card using large envelopes - it would cost a fortune. And it would have been rejected at collection if they were using the wrong service for the mail.

    Ahhh…

I re-read response (below) amended above post to 'large letter stamp'

''The envelope code indicates the item was collected & processed by a different carrier & only passed to us (Royal Mail) for delivery..however the surcharged item was sent via us for 100% of the journey but the sender didn't use a large letter stamp.'' Royal Mail.

    Good Luck all.

That makes more sense. So it fell out of the bag somewhere between production and the initial carrier delivering to the Royal Mail and someone popped it in the postbox, which you can't do with business service mail.
  • Thanks
So you think nothing to do with M&S really ?

Well - it's to do with their printer or postal provider. Though they pay them, so you could say it's down to them.

But basically one of those things that happens from time to time.

    Thank you.

The call centre operates from Manila, Philippines. Don't know where mail originally dispatched from?

    Good luck all.
