IVA Help!!
My friend entered into an IVA IN 2009 as she had a lot of debts from when she was at uni. The IVA failed in march 2014 after she stopped paying it. She had paid about £9000 off the £20,000 she owed. She never heard from them after she stopped paying each month and now everything has dropped off her credit file and she's been offered credit cards.
She recently had a letter from a solicitor about one debt but doesn't know what to do as nothing is showing on her credit file regarding any.
Can they put things back on her credit file after such a long time or is that it? She also never had a failed certificate. Any help appreciated as she doesn't know if all the debts are gonna pop up again.

Well, if the IVA failed then the protection of the IVA disappears, so creditors can come after her.
It is right that defaulted accounts disappear from credit reports 6 years after starting an IVA, even if it later fails.
They cannot or should not put any dropped off accounts back on the reports as accounts. The only way they could affect her credit report again is if any creditor gets a County Court Judgment against her which she does not pay within one month.
Unlikely that creditors will do nothing, even if it is just selling the accounts on to debt collectors.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
