As the title states I need some help interpreting something I've found on my husbands credit report.
It is by Lloyds banking group, asset finance.
Unsecured loan.
Start date: 24/01/2002
End date: 18/05/2010
Payment amount: £58
Payment start date: 18/05/2009
In March and April 2009 it states DT. Then payments are made from May onwards, however they are not regular amounts. The total of the payments add up to £4546 over 12 payments.
Why would the account have a start date of 2002, yet not have any payments made until 2009?
There is also a credit card on there that I am 99% certain his parents have applied for and used in his name. That account was registered at his parents address until January 2014 when the account was closed. How do we prove that my husband didn't have nor use the card? There are missed payments on the credit card account so obviously we want this removed asap as we are going to be applying for a mortgage within the next 12 months.
Thanks in advance.

Is the loan settled or does it gave a balance?
This will depend how you get the info, but will probably need your husband to sign a letter.
When was the card opened? Is it marked as settled with a zero balance?:beer:0 -
The loan and credit card are cleared with a zero balance. The credit card has missed payments on it for a few months and then payments of £5pm for the remainder of the term. The credit card was opened in Nov 2008.
The loan is also cleared with a zero balance. The concern with the loan is the start date as my husband wasn't old enough to get credit in 2002, and this loan and the above credit card have never been mentioned to me, and by checking his online banking I can see that he's never made a payment for either of them from his bank account.
I have messaged my husband to contact me when he can, but god knows when that will be.0 -
The start date may be logged incorrectly.
Have you checked Experian, Equifax and noddle?
As closed, you would need to get a subject access request to get info on these. Your husband would need to do this.
Best ask him if they are his. If not, your only way to get rid is the fraud route and that may not be an option due to his family.:beer:0 -

Thank you. I've just checked noddle so far.
Hopefully my husband will be home at the end of the week for a couple of days before he goes again, so will get him to do the SAR then.
I'm positive they're not his. I know the credit card isn't as he's always said he only has 1. We have also lived together since 2010, all his other accounts have been transferred to our address barring that one that has been actively used since we've moved to Scotland (family live in North of England).
How would we get this removed because of fraud? Do we contact the police or the banks? Family or not they have stolen off my husband before so don't think he will allow them to get away with this now.
Thank you again.0 -
You could contact the banks and say you suspect fraud. They may send you some info or tell you what to do.
I've seen action fraud mentioned on here. Maybe look it up.
SARs take up to 40 days.
Good luck

SARs take up to 40 days.
Looks like a trip to the solicitor then to get in writing that I can deal with this on his behalf, in 40 days he'll be gone until 2016.

Best call the banks, then get them to agree you can run the dispute on his behalf.:beer:0

Thank you for your help. I've managed to have a quick chat with my husband and he's confirmed that they are not his accounts, so he is going to try to get a day off when he gets back so we can try and sort it. He will be reporting it as fraud and will let the people that did this deal with the consequences of their actions.0
