Just to throw something into the discussion I'd like to say that we think of making accommodation for disability a problem, a hassle for local authorities and architects when I actually think that we should be trying to make everything as accessible as possible.
I've lost count the amount of times certain companies have seen my reasonable request as a problem and made me out to be awkward. That's even after quoting the Equalities Act to them, which states you have to make reasonable adjustments. I also attend a local music group. The majority are aware of my visual impairment and that I can't always read the music they hand out. When this happens, it was suggested that the guy next to me should whisper the chords in my ear. Unfortuantely for me, my hearing is a bit sensitive. They do have the odd piece of music in large print; but as a whole, the group do the best they can to accommodate my needs.:)Sealed pot challenge #232.
