Also Santander would have a note of it being on its way surely?

Cashiers don't have any idea of transactions that are waiting to credited only what is pending to go out...

its been answered already but any transactions followed up on a non working day will be processed the next working day which will be today so the payment should take two hours but may take until the next working day (end of business day) to arrive. if you look at your transaction date although it has come out of your lloyds account it will show the date of today 30th even though you 'sent' the money yesterday 29th..

hopefully it will appear anytime from midnight tonight if it hasn't already been applied to the Santander account

Any payment instructions received on a non-working day (i.e. the weekend) will be treated as received on the next working day.

That's what I thought and I posted to that effect this afternoon. I then deleted my post having found this in the Cahoot FAQs...

"How long will it take for a Faster Payment to arrive at the destination account?
If you make a payment online before 5pm (Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays), the payment should arrive at the destination account on the same day. If made after 5pm, it will arrive the following working day."

So it seems that not all banks are the same.
  • Well we've reached 9:15am on Tuesday and it still hasn't arrived. Again, if it was going to arrive today, the customer service advisers at the bank would have told me surely.

But Cahoot can't dictate how the receiving bank treats the payment, and they have until end of next working day to complete the transaction whatever Cahoot says. Take a look at section 4.1 in the Customer Proposition Principles for the different timescales that can apply.

OP, you can't complain about non-arrival until the end of today, although you could try to complain about lack of information given by call centre staff.
  • Thanks for your help guys. However, as of 10:30am on Wednesday it still hasn't arrived.
  • The £500 has now been returned to the Lloyds account. Not sure why it failed but glad to have it back!

Quite surprised it's taken so long. Is there any information with the credit that you could share with us (code numbers etc.) to help diagnose what the issue was?

What appeared on my online statement was "REJECT F/P30/3".
My wife is going to speak to them today to find out what the problem was.
