TT Super safe boost antivrus ...have I done the right thing?

Have decided to use TalkTalk Safe boost along with home safe because I get both free with my broadband package. I was using Windows defender and had Super anti spyware installed but when I downloaded Safe boost it said I had to uninstall Super anti spy ware first? Is TT Safe boost a good all round antivirus to be using compared to defender? Windows 8.1

Anything is better than defender, it scores dreadfully on all AV tests.
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.
  • Yeah that is what I had read and that is why I choose to go with Super safe boost... Good to know it is better than defender.

Looks like TT's Safe Boost is a rebranded version of another product called "F-Secure".

F-Secure always tests very well and scores highly in AV Test's independent tests. If you are happy to pay for the software then you can rest assured it will be offering an excellent level of protection to your computer. However, you can get an equal level or argubly a slightly better level from the following free products:

    Avira Antivirus Pro 2015
    Avast Free 2015
    Qihoo 360 Internet Security
    Panda Free Antivirus

Any one of the above with regular scans with Malwarebytes Free and, of course, doing regular backups of all your important data should see you safe online.

That's the equally (if not more) important part of your post ... too many people rely on dumb luck when it comes to the data they have stored on their computer.
