Over 18 months with No Gas bill
Hi all- first time to post but have been lurking for a while.
I have a bit of a situation- I have rented in my flat for over 18 months. When I first moved in I contacted the utilities company that I was told were in situ to move over to British Gas.
I was told that the electricity was with already with British Gas but that the Gas was unknown. They didnt know the serial number of the gas meter and that it was a bit of mystery.
Anyway I tried a couple of times more to see who I should be setting up with and couldnt get anything out of anyone apart from to tell me to contact the national grid to find out about the meter.
The flat is a converted full house and I am in the basement so maybe the meter has slipped through the net.
Ive paid my electricity during my tenancy but I am now moving out next month.
What do you think I should do? Just play dumb and give the final meter readings or say what has happened?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
mick
