Private Parking Ticket Collection letter

Hi
My brother went to our local hospital and payed for ticket (it was pay and display) but he had parked in a disabled spot which he didnt realise. He received a ticket on his car which he ignored after reading up about the company (APCOA Parking UK LTD) now they have sent a letter by Zenith Collections. This was over 6 months ago! I looked it up and now have seen that he should have made contact instead of ignoring the letters! He is not the registered keeper.
I am confused in what i should do next- do i send a letter saying that i wasn't the driver? (letters are addressed to the registered keeper) or shall i send a letter to Zenith (i have copied and pasted a standard letter found on this site)?
Also dad over stayed by 10 mins and received a ticket by the same company (this was 2 weeks ago) and he chose to ignore it- what course of action shall we do?
i know too many parking tickets in my family!
Thank you in advance
Peace

Welcome to mse Ruby - bitter pills for 2 in your family.
Of course your brother didn't intend to park in a DB, but be prepared in case some posters finger-wag for this.
re: apcoa, or any ppc - even 6 months ago, no correct reading would have advised brother to ignore - juist the opposite! But what's done is done.
Back to the newbies stickies, where both situ.s are well-covered, if you learn to use that Search this Forum box effectively.
You've started well, by putting 'zenith' in there.
You were not the driver. Further contact=harrassment.
NEVER ring or communicate with debt collectors.
Next, sit brother and Dad down to read this.
THEY - esp. dad right now - should be doing this work, not you - although I understand your reasons.
Also, a prize for you - for not calling these fake invoices 'f x x x's :-)CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
