Online Transfer Money Missing

Hi, I wanted to get some advice from anyone who has been through a similar situation. I recently did an online international money transfer from my UK barclays accounts to a bank in another country. Its been nearly a month now and the money has been debited from my barclays accounts but has not been credited to my other account. Barclays is adamant they sent it but have refused to send me any document showing evidence of when they sent it and to where. The benficiary bank has confirmed they have not received anything. To start an investigation with Barclays they charged me £20 and I have still had no resolution. The details for the transfer have been checked and I provided the correct details so the error has to be with one of the banks. Has anyone had a similar experience as I'm just going around in circles and have lost my money.

I'd ask for the £20 back and pay £10 for a Subject Access Request. I can't give you a link to Barclays (if they have a page about SARs as their website seems to be experiencing some technical woes at the moment, but this is general guidance:

£20 just to check the details?! They were having a laugh.Marion_Rose wrote: »... Barclays they charged me £20 and I have still had no resolution. The details for the transfer have been checked and I provided the correct details....
AFAIK, they had to track the transfer and provide you with the tracking information that you could pass to the receiving bank.
If the details were correct, claim £20 back, complaing formally, then complain to the FOS.
If you can get clear proofs from the other bank that the money wasn't received, I think ultimately you can sue Barclays.0 -
be aware that there is probably a 3rd bank acting as a middleman in the transfer process.
No help for now, but if you need to a similar transfer in the future, I rcommend you DIY using an FX broker like currencyfair, wihtin Europe this costs you just €3 and you also get a better rate of exchange as well as the ability to control and track the process at each step. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
