Quick bike sale v5 question

I've just sold my motorbike on eBay and the seller has been in touch asking for phone number and address to collect, the usual stuff. He also wanted the reg (fair enough, HPI check etc etc) but he also wants the 11 digit number off the front of the V5, any reason why he would want this or why I shouldn't give him it?

Thanks

You can use it to check the MOT history online IIRC.
I've done it with cars to check what it's failed on previously and to check if any issues with the recorded mileage.

the v5 number will also be needed if you do the HPI check via ebay themselves, it activates the guarantee.

you have to provide it before you pick up the car or the guarantee becomes invalid.

No, he'll need the number off the V5C/2 to tax it as the new keeper.
