change business name?

Hi Everyone

I set up a business selling custom lockets and called it keepers memory lockets

I now want add to the collection with things other than lockets, it would all be custom jewellery that the customer can create what ever they want , so with that I was thinking of changing the name to
Blank Canvas custom jewellery

Meaning stating from scratch and make your jewellery personal to you.

I'm just looking for a bit of feedback before I get carried away.

Thank you any input would be much appreciated.

Assuming you're a sole trader (ie Lauren1983 t/a Keepers Memory Lockets) then why not just have two imprints?

You'd style yourself in two different ways:

Lauren1983 t/a Keepers Memory Lockets

Lauren1983 t/a Blank Canvas Custom Jewellery

And presumably have two website domains (possibly pointing to the same place but you're moving outside my comfort zone here).

Could you just go for 'Keepers Memory Custom Jewellery', ie keeping the main part of your name, or 'Keepers Memory' alone? What do you do next time you have a bright idea, eg customised wall hangings or plates or mugs or whatever ...

If you can sell the other items using the same business name, then is changing the name going to boost your sales significantly? There is something reassuring to customers when a business sticks to its original name in my view.

So glad I asked before jumping in head first.

I've decided on an overall business name of Keepers Custom Jewellery,
and then Branching off with Keepers Memory Lockets.

I would post my new website heading but don't want to get in trouble with MSE
