Never Answered Bankruptcy - What Next?

Hello Everyone.
I have been a fan and reader of this site for a long time now, but never had the courage to take my head from the sand and sort my mess out!
Back in Oct 2009 Lloyds bank filed for bankruptcy on me, in relation to a business I was involved in. At the time, my relationship was on the rocks, was moving house, losing my business - everything was mounting up!
Long story short, Lloyds made me BR over £19k.
Stupidly, because of what was going on in my life I never replied to the BR papers - now some 5 1/2 years down the line I am in limbo!
Any ideas what I need to do to put this right?
Thanks for listening and not judging people.

Hello....you need to contact the Official Receiver [who is responsible for your case].
Co-operation with the OR is the first step.
Do you have property assets? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Hi
Thx for replying, no property, no0 -
Was any asset disposed of prior to the Bankrutpcy?
If as you state, there is, or ever was, any asset which could be included within the BR, then the OR will deal with it.....IPs are involved where property [or other asset] has to be dealt with. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
No, have never owned a house, my car is provided by my employer for business use.
You would reccomend the OR as the first port of call?0 -
Have you obtained or used any credit or other form of borrowing since the date of the bankruptcy order?0
-
No - nothing, did try a month or so ago, as an inquisitive search, but as suspected declined!
Have managed to get a phone on contract though, but not "really" any type of credit.0 -
The point about 'credit' whilst Undischarged...[which it appears you are at the moment....?]...is that one is obliged by regulation to inform any potential creditor, if seeking credit in excess of £500, that one is an Undischarged Bankrupt. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

It might be worth checking the Individual Insolvency Register https://www.insolvencydirect.bis.gov.uk/eiir/. If discharge has been suspended indefinitely due to none surrender then the OP's details should still appear on there.0

Ok, checked - suspended indefinitely0

Hi,
I agree that you should contact the Insolvency Service, explain what you have told us and move on from there. Do you think that your income might be at risk of an IPA?
