  • Fostering is def something I would like to do. I am just about to undergo IVF so not really the right time as think that could go against us. But hopefully in next few years we will apply.

Good Luck with it all :)
  • Hi good luck with the IVF, (is it your 1st IVF ? ) you must be nervous and excited at the same time, good luck if you decide to foster in the future.

One of my friends had a IVF baby 2 years ago, it took her 2 turns until she fell with her boy.
    Good luck xxx

  • Yep will be our first round. I'm more nervous about the possibly side effects of the drugs then anything else. I can get quite hormonal on my own without the help of all the extra hormones! But I know it wont last for ever and will hopefully be worth it!

partialycloudy - not sure if you've seen it already but the TTC 12month+ thread on here is great if you need some support. Sorry if you're already on there (or lurking).... I need more coffee and not thinking straight lol.

Sorry for the small hijack.... as you were :D

Just wanted to wish you luck and happiness and to thank you, actually. I have worked with many children who are with foster carers and have seen a dramatic ( sometimes overnight) improvement in their well being and overall nurture, once they are placed. You already know that there will be ups and downs as with all parenting, but you clearly have the right attitude and have lots of love to give. Good on you!!!
  • I though councils were screaming out for a carers, such a shame you are still waiting!

I have a couple of questions, OP, if you don't mind. I appreciate you may not be able to answer or give very full answers for confidentiality/privacy reasons...

    - Are you with the local authority or an agency?

    - Did they give you any indication of how busy you would be?

    - How did you/reach the conclusion of kids aged 0-3? Is this your preference, was it governed by circumstance (your own older kids) or was it decided by Panel?

    Thanks in advance!
