Is this because you refused to pay a PCN? If you lose what is the likely fine /costs you will have to pay? Sorry I'm new here and appealing a PCN of my own.

In all likelihood it will be the charge ( whatever that has risen to ) plus around £85 of court costs. Of course, if you actually follow the proper process it won't get to court anyway !

OP has a penalty charge from a private parking firm - not a PCN.

OP - good luck! Please post the result. My understanding is that it should be stayed, pending the Beavis case.

No they haven't, the OP has a speculative invoice NOT a penalty charge.

As per my previous post ..... whatever the PPC decide they are owned plus court costs of about £85. Most PPCs start at £70 ish and their 'invoice' by the time of a court case will be at about £150. Plus court costs making £235 but that is very rough.

Of course if you actually deal with it using the Newbies thread it won't matter what it could get to.

  • great news won my case, so pleased technicality in that the camera does not take a shot of you entering the zone of my ticket allowing some ambiguity to park up before entering /leaving. I stayed over the free 20 mins zone and hence the fine was going to be \£150 - but phew! I won anyone need a bit of advice let me know it was a struggle on my own but won in the end|!

Well done! Can you tell us which court?

(My guess is either Swindon or Walsall)

It is not a fine. It is a disreputable company trying to con you that it is.

If the cameras are faulty, and they are using them to raise invoices, this may be a criminal offence, (weights and measures), and should be brought to the attention in writing of your local Council Trading Standards Officer (not CAB).

    Great news!

Just out of interest, which car park were you in when the "ticket" was issued?
