They're great aren't they? They always send you a letter telling you what the letter they are sending you is about. I'm surprised they don't include a letter telling you what the letter about the letter they are enclosing is about.

All my accounts are set up for paperless correspondents, the number of letters they send me is frightening.

I'm set paperless apart from credit card as I like to go through the entries and still find this easier to do on a piece of paper. The letter was about my ISA rate dropping in June.

I really completely fail to see the logic of that piece of paper (it doesn't even qualify as a letter) to say there is a letter.

I'm not one of the Santander bashers on this forum, and there are many but I am pleased with how they have run my account since they took over from A&L. But this stupidity has to stop.

I think their logic is that when they send multiple letters together you have a list of what they are so you can check you've seen them all.

    Mad I know.

Some companies now find it easier not to mailmerge (ie personalise) letters but to send a generic letter with a covering sheet such as that shown. I can only assume they've done the sums and it works for them.

    TSB were worse.

I opened an outer envelope to find a covering letter explaining that there was, within, another envelope with a letter inside it.

Is it not for security to prevent the text being seen through the envelope.
