Parked on Wolstenholme Square in Liverpool on a Saturday during controlled hours (however, there are no signs anywhere stating these hours, I gather you'd have to look at a pay machine for parking bays to find out this information?). The only parking related signs on the square are in reference to the bays, stating they are loading only between 8am-6pm. However, I thought (perhaps incorrectly) that the land I was parked on was private land.
My contravention was being "parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours".
These are two images of where I parked from Google Maps. There are no new signs up or anything - everything is as it is now. I was parked on the other side of the single yellow line in front of the white building (like the car on the images, but the other way round). There is a "no parking" sign on the building, but that is a private sign and not enforceable (plus, the building is currently derelict).

I have parked here at the same time on the same day before with no issue, and also seen other cars parked there.
Is there any point contesting this ticket?

            OK, thanks.0

As stated Pepipoo is best to check the PCN itself, but that area is in a controlled zone, there only need be signs on the entrance into the zone. Check your route in to see if there are signs there.0
