Hello

My wife has applied and been accepted for an M&S Bank account and they have send her some documents requiring her signature. They ask in their letter to send the documents back in the enclosed freepost envelope. The problem is that there is no such envelope.

Yesterday she spent nearly 30 minutes on hold on the phone with them, but no advised was available, and tomorrow we are flying abroad, so we would like to have this solved before the flight.

Does anybody who has opened such an account have a clue of the freepost address on the envelope, so that she can leave this sorted out?

Thank you.

By the way, I just found this address in their website: Freepost, PO Box 410, Chester CH99 9UT. But it says it is for savings and investments.

Their current account address details are

    M&S Bank
    Kings Meadow
    Chester
    CH99 9FB

As you say there is a freepost address for savings - but not current accounts - as you have found but you could try it as it probably goes to the same building?:

I see you are in Edinburgh - probably not what you want to do the day before your holiday but they have a branch in the South Gyle shopping centre store. You can hand the ID in there - and if you can spare 20 minutes they can open the account immediately using your wife's online application and give you the account number etc. They are open until 7pm today - or 12 to 6pm tomorrow.

    Ground Floor
South Gyle Shopping Centre, Edinburgh, EH12 9JT
    Telephone: 01313171333

Their branches are usually very quiet - they also have the most garish debit cards I have ever seen (mine includes a picture of woman's leg in tights sticking out of a tea cup). Buy your tights and have a coffee - on your M&S debit card!:D
