scottcall / lowell

Hi everyone.

Iv just got off the phone from scottcall this morning after paying a debt and was just wondering who is it up to when updating the credit file? I called lowell first who advised it was no longer there account so called scotcall who then took payment and said they would send a letter of comfirmation for the closed account.

But when i checked experian/noddle the debt is still listed as a lowell one? Will this change once the account is updated the last letter i recieved was from lowell less than 2 weeks ago.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
MR-B

If it's Lowell on your credit file, then they are responsible. Even if they have farmed it out to Scottcall to collect.

Scottcall don't buy debts as far as I recall, so I would guess the person you spoke to at Lowells was telling you nonsense. They frequently do.

I was once told scotcall are the "paramillitary" arm of Lowell lol. Basically the same people, but more threatening tones in the letters.

Its just a trading name of the same company. I would wait and keep checking the credit file, we had to chase Low pretty hard to finally get the credit file updated with a settled account a few years ago-took about 5 months and several email reminders to get them to update.
