Help with washing machine

Options
We have an Indesit washing machine that is almost 4 years old. The rubber seal has come off the drum and we are being quoted £47 to get it fixed. We use the machine probably 4 - 5 times a week. We can't decide whether its worth spending the money or just paying £233 for a new one from Tescos.
Anybody any thoughts ?

Tough one that. £47 is cheap enough for the seal TBH, pretty good value actually. On the other hand Indesits aren't exactly renowned for lasting.

Hard to say what the best choice is.

I got an Indesit seal from HERE , though if you have a local supplier you may save on the postage.

Mine was £14 delivered and was simple to fit if you're semi handy.

There is also a forum on the site to ask for help etc.:j

Our machine lives in the garage so "Her Indoors" is not bothered what colour it is.:rotfl:

Most white goods are only to designed to function for 5 years before they start breaking down (it's the manufactures way of selling new machines), at the end of the day it's upto you as to how to proceed, however i wouldn't pay extra for the warranties they offer after the first year, as it works out cheaper to buy a new machine.
  • Hi,

I would agree with Russ66, get a seal and have a go yourself, you might get another year or so from the machine.

Here's a link to give you an idea about fitting.
