Hi All. I haven't been on here for months. Seems like it's been one thing after another + I now have far more problems with my shoulders/hands BUT had steroid shots last week in shoulders and wrists so I've actually had some sleep (yea, look at the time!) and some pain relief too. FC I owe you some CD's which I will get back around to once I can find where hubby put the originals to & pick the things up to slide them into the slot.:o
Hubby is still ill & it just seems again that it's one thing on top of another. Went to see a consultant who told him virtually ALL his problems are caused by Mast cells - the anaphyaxis, the heart bumps, the asthma, the gut problems. Wonderful we thought, we have a 'proper' diagnosis now we can expect some help!:D The help he got was a two sided photocopied sheet with no diet guidelines & very little information.:( Our doc was as unimpressed as us & there is little on the web - conflicting often. He has changed a couple of his medications BUT some hubby can't tolerate & we were told we wouldn't be seeing the 'specialist consultant' again as he is too busy to see people more than once, being one of very few in this country specialising in this!:(
Hmmmm A new label and no-one knows how to solve this! Impressed? NOT!:mad: Why bother specialising & seeing people when you can offer no solutions - just told hubby to make sure he always carried his Epi-pen, Inhalers, Nitrate spray etc. He always does, so no change there! He's still awaiting knee replacement but at least he's now on the list if his spinal problems don't get worse in the meantime - still waiting for an MRI!:eek:
Enough of that, here's some pleasant stuff:D :-
We did a repositioning cruise to the US last October - very nice, :Dfood was wonderful& it was just a bit more expensive than return air fare. Saw our gorgeous new grandson:A:A & spent a few weeks seeing family/friends. It was SO nice to be pampered and waited on plus to have others to talk to. We'd both like to do another soon.
We had really rough seas/bad weather as we were trying to avoid numerous hurricanes so instead of taking a southerly route around the Azores to Fort Lauderdale we ended up level with mid Canada.:( Thankfully neither of us suffer from sea sickness so we were perfectly fine in the Force 10-11 gales whereas well over 50% of the crew and passengers were feeling extremely poorly - it just made us ravenous so we partook of the wonderful meals.:D It was so bad the lifeboats were damaged - good job we didn't need them!
We actually got insurance this time without spending an arm, a leg, a kidney etc. as he hasn't been an inpatient in a while. - The only reason he hasn't been in is that he now won't let me call an ambulance! The times I had to, he refused to go in as I provide better care for him!
Have done little glitching but I have partaken of some of those lovely/awful Udi's :owhen doing an online shop - thanks to whoever found them. I've also been doing the BNI but am about sick of them again. However, as I can't easily chop up food - they've been a bit of a godsend. I'm hoping to be able to get back to 'proper' cooking soon if the injections don't wear off in a couple of weeks, as they did the last time!
Have you seen the Money saving email today? It tickled me.:rotfl::rotfl: Top of the list is "Extreme couponing tricks" I wondered if there was anything I'd missed? I thought definitely not when her biggest 'coupons' were £39.50 of Tesco Vouchers! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:OMG! She obviously didn't think she could get up to 4 times their worth by using them elsewhere. Moneysaving - I think not! Surely instead of highlighting her error someone should have told her she actually wasted more than she saved?:rotfl::rotfl: You'd think by working there & getting staff discount she'd have come across a few of the Elite & could have learned a few tricks?
It's good to be back & I'm hoping the injections mean it will be for quite a while!:)0 -

Morning all :wave:ilovegreatdanes wrote: »If you read the full context of the post, I was making suggestions of what could be done not that I am running for office.i dont know where you live, but we have a large influx of eastern europeans who do not work and have no intentions to, just want to bring their families here or send cb payments back to their country as their government pays significantly less in any kind of benefit payments.all kinds of studies can be quoted and im sure if I cba ed to find them Icould bore everyone to death with them.i have no qualms about foreigners coming who have a job to come to as I am aware of how much they contribute doing jobs that uk ppl will not do, but im sure most of the imigrats queing up at calais have a job to come to and will not live off the state for the rest of their lives, bur I am not that deluded or naive.if you lived near these visitors, you would understand how the majority will not intergrate, will not abide by our laws and increase the crime rate.
I dont expect to go to a foreign country and expect a little england.i try to intergrate as much as I can and respect all local customs and laws.these ppl think england is far game.you are intitled to your op as i am to mineand i am glad we live in a country where speech is free..
Well they must be frightfully clever to circumvent the rules then
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/eu-jobseekers-barred-from-claiming-universal-credit
The new regulations mean that under Universal Credit no EU households will be able to access means-tested benefits in the UK without having worked here first.
•all EU jobseekers need to live in the country for at least 3 months before they can claim income-based JSA, Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit
•after 3 months, jobseekers have to take a stronger, more robust Habitual Residence Test if they want to claim income-based JSA
•after 3 months on Jobseeker’s Allowance, they have a ‘genuine prospect of work’ test – if they do not have an imminent job offer they will lose their benefits and their right to reside in the UK as a jobseeker
•new migrant jobseekers from the EU are no longer able to claim Housing Benefit
Those queuing up at Calais to try and sneak into the UK are not EU migrants...EU citizens have free passage within the EU.
And yes of course you are entitled to your opinion...however in this instance your opinion that EU migrants come here in swathes to claim benefits rather than to work is contradicted by facts - shame that you cba to quote any in support of your claims0 -
Good morning all, lovely and sunny hereWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
