This was another one that I thought was way too expensive the other day. (Comp. shown is vs M.)

    2 x Bloo Max Cistern Block Blue£2.00£2.00
    A mbuy:( 2 for £2

I was getting out a pack of the SP Cistern Blocks and starting to use one of those. And, whilst searching for "Cistern Block" online (I kid you not:D), I happened upon t.com and noticed the Bloo branded version were £1.85 individual price:eek::eek:_pale_.

I've no idea why people would ever buy these, when SP/Eday are 30p, and pay £1.55 more:eek: simply for a branded version. Yet people do, all the time. Do that on several items (and the supermarkets' major area of trading is branded products) and it's highly costly!

In fact, why do we need to use cistern blocks at all in the first place? (Mine were just fillers on the APG shops from time to time.) There's no real need - as toilet cleaner, limescale remover and bleach, used alternatively from time to time, I find do their jobs perfectly well. I wonder about cistern blocks and what other "useless" items have, over time, been created solely in order to convince that we need a product, or a separate new product, to do something that was perfectly well performed by any standard alternative product all along?

Perhaps all of those branded face washes and 'cleansers':rotfl: - soap and water was perfectly fine!!

Some products, I think, exist solely for their own existence sake and merely as products to get the public to pay manufacturers (via the retailers) for. We never used and didn't need any of these before marketers decided that they needed a new product and to convince the public of a need for something, often very costly, that was and always has been adequately done, and still is done, by some standard product for many decades beforehand. Except that many people now buy the purely marketing-creation product that serves only to satisfy the manufactured need for a product that the marketing companies and advertising has told us we need!

    Avoid:rotfl:!!:rotfl::rotfl:

So Stanley Boy has just brought a mouse in  I heard the cat flap go then clanging and banging going on in the kitchen. Sent DH in to investigate, he dropped the mouse (Stan not DH) and it shot under the bags which I am still to unpack from baby shopping today. Well we've both gone through everywhere we can think of, under the fridge, in the bags can't find it anywhere. Just loaded a humane trap up with peanut butter, turned all the lights off and closed the door. Stan's been put outside so we will see what happens

I would not be happy  Oreo brought us a dead bird through the open window a few weeks ago then a dead mouse last week but luckily the window was shut so he left it on the windowsill for us  Dreading the summer when he's out and about more and we have the windows constantly open. Hope mousey goes for the peanut butter :o

I think it will be nice for them being close in age but so much hard hard while they're young. 24 June is my dhs' birthday :) dgs did give his sis a kiss goodnight tonight, first time he's been near her and she's 9 days old :o

Aww bless. it's so hard for them when it's just been them. DS1 was soooo jealous when DD came along. He didn't like it at all! He suggested when she was a few days old that we send her back because we didn't have space for her :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Then it got worse when DS2 arrived. I heard him say to them both one day when he was about 8/9 'you do know people only have more children to annoy the ones they've already got' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Luckily he grew out of it :D :A

:rotfl:or for the one's they've got to annoy :rotfl: My dd was jealous of her older brother and of her younger sister. Now dd2 is jealous of her younger brother :o dd2 was 5 when ds2 came along and we could never say I love you to the new baby without saying it to her within the same breath or she would say "so you don;t love me any more?" Middle child syndrome in our house I think as ds and ds2 couldn't care less who gets attention and who doesn't, ds is 24 now though and moved out :j :rotfl:

    Evening all

TM sorry for my tardiness in replying but have a few euros stashed away from Cape Verde trip but very good idea to stock up before the General Election although rate not as good as Feb. It's a hard choice whether to tie money up or not but have another 2 trips that need euros this year so I think I will buy a few more.

Very non mse day (Lucy cupcakes:eek:).
Serious outlet shopping (for anyone local 25% off in the watch shop atm).
Sister bought a summer work wardrobe plus shoes and I treated myself to a new watch and dress. Then back to my local pub for very late lunch and lots of talking.
Obviously talked alot about dad this weekend and sister has be researching some of the family heirlooms. Silver plate coffee and teapot set which my great uncle left my dad as had JB engraved on it. She has tracked down manufacturer and knows the dates they made that style so we now know which JB it was bought for between 1835 and 1850.
    Fascinating finding these things out:)

I've just had a most surreal experience

2 police officers knocked at the door. They asked me if the car parked out front is mine (it is, my drive was full of DS1 friends cars when I got home from shopping yesterday and Ive not been out since)

They then asked me why I have a 'shovel' in the boot :o:o:o I informed them it was a garden spade and it was in there because I'd just bought it and I had 4 other bags to carry so I left it in there to get out later (which is absolutely true!!)

The 'shovel' in question still has all the plastic wrapping on. I really wasn't happy with the way it was going so I asked them why they'd been looking in my propertyin the first place. The lady officer told me they can look in anyone's property if they see fit  fair enough I said but why are you asking me about my brand shiny new garden spade? Nothing....no answer. I said if you are looking at my property because I'm suspected of doing something then at least ask me. At that I was told it was unusual to have a spade in my boot  and they said some niceities and left??

    !!!!!!??

They might be legitamely looking for something? and I don't even mind that they looked in my car. But surely they should know the difference between a shovel and a spade :D:p :rotfl:

I hope they don't dig my patio up  :D :rotfl:
