    Hello all,

I've read the first part of this thread which explains how things work and I've just entered my first receipt into the APG, which was exciting even although my shop was cheaper in A compared to the other places.

Anyway I've been trying to understand something, what is it about certain items that people have been buying for example, I've read a lot on here about rice, and shampoo but I can't work out what? If it's cheaper say at T, then why not buy it there at a cheaper price than if it was more expensive at A. I know the APG gives an extra 10% of the price difference but say if your shop works out at £1 more in A than the others, then that is only 10p extra so it can't be that I figure.

Sorry if I'm missing an obvious point but if someone could fill me in that would be great.

    Thanks.

    :hello:

Sometimes the APG gets the wrong prices for a competitor - but more often the APG has the wrong data for A5da's own prices  (especially when multibuys are involved)

For example, tilda rice is 2 for £2 in lots of stores but the multibuy is missing from the APG so it's showing the individual price on the comparison of £1.58 vs 79p (vs Morries) despite an actual spend of £1 (when buying multiples of 2 for £2).

Hello from not so sunny Poole

There are either no or very few elite in the Poole area, as I have now visited both large asda stores in the area and both have supplies of £1 strawberry udis and the garnier conditioner. I have relieved one store of udis and the other of conditioners, so a good holiday so far - just a pity about the weather.

Congrats on the new job Emma :T

At least everyone knows I am honest when I say I have never bought/tried a UDI. ;)

There are at least 8 MSEers incl me that I know live in the Poole/Bournemouth area and 5 of them are definitely Elite. 2 of us actually live in Poole and neither of us do many APGs.

Glad you have been able to stock up. :rotfl:

Right, from M, not too much exciting and doesn't seem good news. The Princes tinned pies going up to a ridiculous (IMO) £2, although I wouldn't have been buying them as they are £1 in A. Fwiw, they are now an Mvs A item, but why? Costs 10p more than what they would have been previously when Avs M or, if you are quick, you might get the vs M £1 comp. if you shop tonight.

Some Baxter's Chutney tins on 49p, and lots of Tommee Tippee products on £2 or below (obviously nothing too fantastic). Elsewhere, it doesn't look good on the baby wipes and creams as I've only ever had one M out of my six even show any of the offers. Just not putting the offers on in any other stores, and I think today was our last chance on that as offers expiring 6th April. So, no price collection until after that date in any event. I doubt we'll ever see half price comparisons, but as usual you never know.

Also, on the cereals, I have no evidence of any 3 for £5 offer on any of them in two out of three of my stores today. It seems that, unless they have them out on the aisle end, they don't display the offer. I don't know what this means - perhaps they are no longer on any mbuy offer as from today or yesterday, or maybe they are, as one store has it up. Msm saying on until 26/4 but totally irrelevant. I don't see how mbuy mix and match would be picked up if only a minority of stores are displaying it, but obviously depends what the situation is in the APG stores: mine don't look good.

A couple of "Rice Fusions" going onto £1 in M - Egg Fried Rice & Peas and Mediterranean Veg. Rice. [EDIT: I have neither of these "Steamfresh" showing in stock for A on msm now:(. May be Tvs M but doesn't seem too good. They are on msm for M anyway, which neither A nor T use for M prices:rotfl:.] Some product whose name is partly illegible on my notes:mad::rotfl: on 24p. I think it says "M Chrome Tree" - it's a kitchen utensil that you can I think hang things from like a tree.

Some stationery offers including, if your store has it, M Ballpoint Pens Red/Green 5 pack at 20p. Meaning that the 10 pack Savers Ballpoint Pens at 50p were and now are a rip-off:eek::rotfl:. The 10 pack are assorted blue and black, but of course we need red and green pens (I have it as 2 red and 3 green in a pack). Or, as they have it on their offer label, "Ballpoint Pens Red/Grren I]sic[/I". Also the Kids Chalks are back:rotfl:. 18p as usual. And the store that had no price up for Cranberry Jelly now has the 49p price on the shelf, but is now the only store with any stock left. And Cadbury Brunch Choc Chip and Cadbury Brunch Peanut are back on £1, although, in my stores, they have yet to make a decision about the price of the Raisin version. I see it is now showing £1 on msm, although I have full price SELs in my stores and no offer labelling for the Raisin packs. Now 98p in A, down from individual £1.98, I don't think that's any good:(:rotfl:.

Impulse Very Pink Models Own Set at £1.99:rotfl:, but I don't think it's anywhere on msm now and I think it won't compare in any event. Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Crunchy Granola Yoghurt Filling on £2.49 and 200 points (20p:() in M but T wanting you to buy 3 to get £1 each price:(. Nutri-Grain Apple breakfast bars (supposedly on 500 points for buying 1) are now off in any event as price has increased in T to £1.99:eek:.

Twiglets 6 pack on 90p - v.expensive anyway:eek: - and T on useless 98p:rotfl: (just 8p difference:(:() so, that's decided that one, not going onto the list! Walkers 30 pack Variety crisps on £3 in M, no glitch, same price per pack as the 40 pack in A but in case you don't want to pay them an actual £1 more in A for their larger box.

Bits and bobs to do on the list. That's it for now.

Sorry the whoopsies didn't go so well TM. Did you manage to get anything?

I found a tin of Bombay pots lurking in the cupboard today. That, a chopped onion (filler) and some leftover lamb from Monday made a very respectable curry. Served on tildy rice it made a lovely elite :money: dinner. Also had a shepherds pie made with some of the lamb yesterday, so it's done very well.
