problems with AXA travel Insurance

Options
Hi

Looking for some advice, In April we arrived in New York on an Aer Lingus flight minus 1 our suitcases. After a nightmare holiday, (18 days) twelve of them on a cruise ship., we arrived home still without a case and did not claim our Travel Insurance right away. By the beginning of June we had to accept that we were never going to get the case and made the claim to AXA, I sent off the claim, copied everything I sent and waited I did get a letter saying they had received the papers and then that was about it. To date I have made around a dozen phone calls, I have logged and kept a note of the names and comments. To get to the crunch I am getting nowhere with AXA, I have been told several times by different people at the company that my claim would be "worked on" I phoned again last week and and spoke to 4 different advisers, two of them in particular told me that only one person in their section could give me any info about ny claim and each time he was on the phone, not at his desk, at lunch or away for the day. One guy told me there were "complications" with the claim, when I asked what they were he refused to discuss anything with me. I have repeatedly asked for a supervisor or manager only to be told they are busy. I don,t know where else I can go for some help with this. I am on holiday again the beginning of next month but that is unimportant to AXA. Please can anyone tell me what I can do next?

Thanks

Have you had any updates on the claim yet? They should have a time limit and as they're regulated by the FSA you could always escalate a complaint to them if there's still no joy.

I'll move this to the Insurance Board where hopefully someone will be able to give better info :)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

    Cheers
