Anyone know where to buy paraffin in the newcastle area? I am currently using B&Q but begrudge paying near on £7 for around 4L!

Do a local search for Oil manufacturers . Most use commercial paraffin in the blending and it is a stock product and will be the cheapest you can buy .

I am lucky I have Millers Oils in Brighouse nearby that do everything from paraffin to the specialist oils for Caterham Motorsport .

Cheers, I will give that a try on Monday. Not being tight, just feel that £6.91 per 4L is extortionate! :)

Assuming it's for a greenhouse heater, looking on g00gle a lot of people are using Kerosene aka Domestic Heating Oil, we have an indoor heater designed to run on it and paid 54p/litre last month.
I believe the wick needs finer tuning to prevent it from smoking.
If you know of someone who has oil fired central heating, you may be able to source it from them.

    Try a local allotment shop

e.g. Little Moor Allotments, in Jesmond
    Current price: £1.10 / litre :)

(You'll need to pay £1 a year membership, but otherwise open to all)
