Santander Interest question

Maybe i am been a bit thick here, i am not a die hard banking fanatic hence my question.
for the monthly 3% interest i meet all the criteria and keep my account in a positive state, my santander account i use for everyday bills debits etc. Now when the interest for feb was due i had this
25/02/2015 INTEREST PAID AFTER TAX 3.58 DEDUCTED £14.31
£7,112.08
skip forward to march's interest payment
25/03/2015 INTEREST PAID AFTER TAX 3.39 DEDUCTED £13.55
£7,364.21
now my account for the period between 25 feb and 25 mar never went below 7112.08 so my question is why did i earn less interest?

Hi,
I would think because less days in February.
Edit: from Santander FAQs:
Interest is accrued on a daily basis on the entire balance at the appropriate tier. You must have 2 active Direct Debits, be paying your account fee plus at least £500 a month into your account and have a minimum balance of £1,000 to earn interest.0 -
of course, so bloody obvious "Maybe am thick"

thank you0
