Possible PPI claim from 15 years ago

Hi,

I had a credit card with Barclaycard going on 15 years now and I'm sure they had charged me the PPI. When I contacted them I was told they have no record of me having an account with them but I know I did. Unfortunately all previous statements I had for that card have since been destroyed through moving house. Is there a way of tracing back to get these records so I potentially make a claim?

Credit card PPI would be listed on every statement so you could check that easily. Unfortunately if you have destroyed all your statements and the account has been closed for more than 6 years and they have destroyed their records in line with the DPA then your case is effectively over

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Barclaycard keep a rolling 6 years of statements. So, if you closed it within the last 6 years there will be records. If you closed it longer than that, it is unlikely any statements on the account are held.
