  • I DONT WANT ANY REPLIES FROM THE NAY-SAYERS, AS I UNDERSTAND I CHOSE TO UPGRADE ETC.

I'm in the same boat here only my charge is approx £250. I understand that by accepting an upgrade etc I enter into a new minimum agreement. However, Is it any different if i am moving to an area that isn't covered by VM? I have been with them consistently for 9 years but recently upgraded my internet speed approx 5 months ago [D'oh]. I genuinely want to continue my services with VM at my new address, but apparently they wont cover the area i'm moving to.

    Cheers,

No different as you are choosing to move its you not VM breaking the contract .
Your contract is at your current address though most ISPs will let you move if they supply your new address.

slip_bett69..... I'm afraid the contract / upgrade you agreed to is only to provide the services to your current address. If you move, you can take them with you, IF virgin can provide them to your new address. If not, then you will have to pay an early termination fee.

There are multiple threads on here from people in similar situations and they're not happy about it, but unfortunately, this is made clear in the T&C's of the original contract that you agreed to. As explained by JJ Egan, unfortunately, it's you that's broken the agreement here, not Virgin. (but I do feel you pain, I too would be miffed if I were in a similar situation)
