Aviva - No-one asked me!

Just noticed in the paper that Aviva and Friends Provident shareholders have approved the merger...
I have a small chunk of Aviva shares, held through H-L, and nobody asked me my thoughts. (Though I don't think I hold enough to be influential. (Joke, btw)
As a general rule, shouldn't H-L have asked me to vote, or Aviva? I seem to recall having an input, via H-L, when Vodafone and Verizon were separating.
Not over-concerned, just curious...

I've got certificated Aviva shares. Computershare emailed me with all the details and voting possibilities. Sounds like a question for H-L. I know that with some nominee accounts you have to opt in to Company communications.0

Have you chosen to have voting rights on those shares are have you accepted that the platform can have the voting rights?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks folks. Have asked H-L...0

Have had a reply from H-L, for anyone else who's curious about their procedures re voting on takeovers etc.
I am afraid we do not notify our nominee Vantage clients of individual stock voting options however, so if you wanted to vote on a particular issue you would have to aware of the vote through your own research. Any announcement of a vote will be available to view on the 'Share news' section of a company's page on our website.
So it's down to me...0
