Car leasing question

Hi all,

I searched the forums and couldn't an answer specific to my circumstances so here goes.

I have a good credit history, managing my income/outgoings ok, no major unmanageable debt. My husband did have a history of poor credit (previous CCJ many years ago, some debt all now paid off) but given the time elapsed his credit should have improved somewhat. However last week he applied for a standard credit card and was knocked back. We are in the process of checking his credit record to see if there is an obvious reason why.

He now needs a car for work and we are thinking of going down the PCP/leasing route. We're not sure if he would be approved in his own right given what happened with the credit card so I could lease in my name for him to drive. But for insurance purposes, can he be insured as first driver if the car lease is in my name? I understand that me being listed as the main driver would be regarded as "fronting" given the fact that I wouldn't really be using it, as I have my own car.

Our financial situation is comfortable enough to be able to easily make the PCP payments and insurance.

I have deliberately kept our finances technically separate due to his previous problematic credit until we could be sure that this wouldn't be detrimental, so there is no financial link between us currently.

Any advice??
