High Court Enforcement Officers

Has anyone seen the recent programmes on TV about these chaps?

When you consider some of the riff raff with whom they have to deal, most of them come across as pretty decent.

It's the landlords I feel sorry for. Inspired by the quick profits shown on programmes such as Under the Hammer" some of them really do jump in at the deep end.

One London taxi driver bought a BTL property some 300 miles from his home in the hope that it would supplement his pension.

Instead he ended up with a tenant owing £4,000 in rent arrears and trashing the place. I believe that eventually he cut his losses and sold up.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

most are repeats from 2013 , especially this week (although there was a new series a few weeks ago) , so sometimes its worth looking at the dates shown on screen or looking for R in the listings

there is an old one where they went to UKCPS in leeds from something like 2 years ago, collecting a debt for a former employee :)

However do you mean this one.

    http://www.channel5.com/shows/cant-pay-well-take-it-away

    or this one?

    http://thesheriffsoffice.com/the_sheriffs_are_coming_bbc_tv

The first seem to have more to do with property repossession.

I know a property owner, who advised me that if you are letting in the low end market you need lots of properties so the most who pay, cover these that don't to show a profit.

UKCPS and Apcoa have both been on these programs, for shafting ex workers.

Yeah, Ive seen the show, It does make you think sometimes.

One family with kids, Were moved properties by their landlord, Seems they were given little choice and then the landlord wanted more rent than they were previously paying. Had to pack up their stuff there and then.

But another family had not paid rent for many months and owed over £6000. They just didnt pay not couldnt pay. Large TV, games consoles etc etc. Just didnt pay.

Did you see the one where they found a suitcase full of fake money?

It seems on that C5 programme the ones who took the biggest hits with dodgy tenants were those that managed the properties themselves (to maximise their return no doubt). If I was ever in a position to rent out a property/properties I'd do it via a letting agency and let them take some of the risk.
