When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:money:

    Morning all :)
Hope you feel better soon Ziggy. Don't feel bad about your Mum's respite care. It will be a break for her as well, and hopefully she will enjoy her 'holiday' at the coast. Been there (my Mum had dementia :(). ((Hugs))

    My list for today:
Heating off downstairs Kept it off but wood burner lit now :)
Feed chickens and dog Done, must feed dog again and shut up chickens in a minute
Sort out and price up some items for my sales unit Done, put a boxful together
Take items to unit and tidy up Done
Make marmalade from some unpleasantly sour clementines. Hopefully that will work ok. I will need to buy a bag of sugar for this. I have the fruit cut up and soaking in water as per recipe, I will finish it tomorrow, as the soaking will help soften the peel - it is a bit leathery  It does smell nice though. Got the sugar in poundstretcher for 49p :)
All meals from stores - leftovers for supper tonight Done
Yesterday's line dried washing in to airing cupboard Done
Get some fruit from freezer and cook for breakfasts (I like to have yogurt, fruit and meusli for breakfast) Done, possibly a strange mixture of plums and loganberries
Hoovering if I get to it Hmm, not very motivated, but I managed the kitchen and bathroom floors

I am sure I have forgotten something, but will be back to update later :)I keep thinking I should have done something else but can't remember what it was :oI am a bit lazy today

    Morning folks!

Thanks to ziggy for starting us off. Don't feel guilty about your mum. Respite is to allow both of you to recharge and be on top form. You will be able to care for her better if you're well :)

Foxgloves - big hugs. I hope the universe starts righting itself soon!

It's a gorgeous day here again.
I had to work til gone 8 last night (boo hoo me!). I'm just HOPING that the boat won't need anything from me tonight!

    Small list:
    • B/L from stores. Possibly dinner out
    • Still eating the giant cake in work. om nom nom
    • Charge phone in work
    • Overtime? Who knows!
    • Tend to seedlings
    • OH may need new jeans for gigging. His band want him to wear SKINNY JEANS! I think not!. My OH is relatively short (5' 8") and quite stocky. He is very broad shouldered and broad chested. He also has a bit of a tummy. I cannot see skinny jeans being a look for him. Hopefully he will look such a travesty that we won't have to buy them! :D
Very small list but may add more. Bit of an average day I think!

Oh - some good news, OH has got his new painkillers. I hope they help him!

    All the best

    Hi all

WFH today so catching up on a few other bits too.

Got a new debit card through so updating Quidco/Amazon/PayPal with the details. I also need to update a direct debit but may not be in time for that to take effect until May's payment.

I made my secondary bank account joint between OH and I, and currently the horse's rent and insurance come out of there in addition to the account fee (which pays for my breakdown, travel insurance, phone insurance etc). I want to move the horse's transactions to my main bank account just to make keeping track easier.

(((Ziggy))) Don't worry, your mum will be well cared for. You need a recharge as well now and again. Been there and I know how hard it is not to worry, but you do need a break every so often.

    Today's little list:

Walk up and down to work
Feed birds on way to work
Post little gift to friend who is having a bad time
B/L/D from stores...DS1 is cooking tonight, so I get a break from that
    Check bank
    Check one poll, etc
Found a fiver by the trolleys outside waitrose, yay!
    Continue decluttering.
    Hoover

    Think that's it for today.

    Have a good day, everyone.
