To be honest I am very surprised that your wife was ever awarded DLA in the first place. I have a relative that has a necrotic pancreas, as well as damaged arteries that supply the spleen and liver, resulting in difficult to control Type 1 diabetes all caused by alcohol. Additionally like your wife she is riddled with arthritis, has high blood pressure and is treated for thrombosis - she had a PE in 2013. When she applied just before her 65th birthday in 2013 she was told that she wasn't disabled enough!

Still I wish her well and good luck with the PIP claim.

I am very surprised that you have posted this reply. You do not know my wife, or what she has gone through. Her diabetes is uncontrolled, because her gp doesn't want to prescribe any more medication, in case of bad interaction with some of the other 13 different meds she is taking. She had a hip replacement a few years ago, and has been virtually unable to walk ever since. She can manage a few steps using 2 walking sticks, and that is it. Once she has walked a few steps, she is exhausted and in agony. She was awarded dla some years ago, because she needed help, and qualified for it. She did not win some competition to be awarded.
I am sorry that your relative was not successful in claiming dla, perhaps she did not explain her needs well enough. Or perhaps she was not as unwell as you thought. Being cynical, I expect it was because she was so close to retirement age.

Oh yes she was and still is in a very poor state. The honest reason was that the form she filled in for DLA was extremely poorly constructed and no supporting evidence was submitted. That's why she failed. But at the end of the day it is a poor state of affairs if the awards seem to be only given to those that can fill in these forms to a much greater extent.
Yes, she does/did qualify - most definitely. As with AA, she has backed out of that because she could not go through the same stress of having to see another 'DWP doctor' who most definitely did and does not listen to what is said when reporting to the DM's.

Andy, get it through your head, no-one is interested in your interminable fairy stories by your interminable AE's.

People come here for help on their problem and don't need to listen to your lies.

Op, as per what has been said in the first quote in this post, please don't get upset/concerned over the other post.

In regards to completing the forms for dla/aa/pip

Just make sure you put as much info in as poss & describe how things are on the days that your oh is really struggling.
It's not easy completing them, make sure you keep a copy of them before you send them off & I truly wish you the best X
