Norwegian out of Gatwick rather than Easyjet

I normally travel out of Gatwick on Easyjet, but the latest trip I have booked flies out with Norwegian.

Can I expect any differences in procedure ?

Don't seem to be able to check-in online for Norwegian.

    Flew with them last year.

Certainly checked in online but its only 24 hours in advance that you can do it as per http://www.norwegian.com/en/customer-services/travel-information/check-in-and-boarding/

As per http://www.norwegian.com/en/customer-services/travel-information/baggage-/hand-luggage/ the other key difference is that they are like most normal carriers in that you can have one official piece of hand luggage plus a second small item (eg handbag) rather than having only one as per easyjet.

Thanks for the link, I spent ages going round the website trying to find those details.

We flew Norwegian last year and were really impressed. We did prebook our seats as we're travelling with DD. Much nicer than Easyjet, comfier seats and free WiFi! Usual overpriced drinks and snacks, but we take our own. Enjoy your flight!

Flown with them out of Gatwick twice. Very impressed. Free WiFi as well.
We're thinking of using them for the U.S. next year.

Fantastic to fly with. Roomy seats, good fares and modern aircraft. Much prefer them to easyjet or Ryan air. Fly to canaries with them and more recently Finland - same experience each time and easy check in terminals and bag drop.

Flew with them from Gatwick to Budpest last September, couldn't fault them, and would use them again.

I travel with Norwegian airlines quite a bit and am very impressed with them.

We're flying Gatwick to Pula in Croatia this year and it will be our first experience of using Norwegian.

Has anyone who has used Norwegian before opted to go for the cheap option and not pay for seat allocation?
If so how did it go, did people on the same booking generally get seated together?
When are the seats allocated - at the time of online check in or only at the airport?
Wondering if checking in earlier improves the seating availability etc..

    Thanks in anticipation.

Seems like there is some kind of auto allocation near the 24hr point - once you check in online they are fixed (though we have had them together each time)

I always check in at the kiosk not online, that way you can double check and see if there are any better seats / free rows etc
