Joint State pension

Pension Credit will still exist from 6/4/2016.This too is being replaced as of April 2016.
The difference is that the full rate of nSP will be greater than the single persons guarantee amount. This will mean that a significant number of people who reach SPa after this date will not need to claim PC. People who get less SP than the pension credit amount for whatever reason will still be able to claim and be means tested.
This is one of the drivers for nSP - to give people the money as much as possible without them having to claim and without the cost of the means test.0
