Good morning all
gers Big day arrived at last honey, enjoy your new life that's about to start. I retired in 1995 and can honestly say once I got out of the habit of waking up at 5 .00 a.m. (hard to break after 22 years) I haven't missed work at all, and am now far too busy to even contemplate it again (and far too old :):):))
This morning Mick the gardener was supposed to be coming, but I don't think that will happen atm as its persisting down, maybe it will clear up later.A bit of ironing to polish off but not much housework at all :) my kind of day, just pottering around.
NSD today I will go tomorrow to get my last bits and pieces for this month
Hope everyones day improves weather wise,we really need some gently sunny spring days to cheer us all up
Take care

Hi all,

GERS - Have a fab day, and enjoy your retirement x

It's wet and windy here, but I,m having a 'doing day' today, washing, cleaning, cooking etc etc

We,re away for DH Birthday this weekend, going to watch War Horse in London - really looking forward to seeing it.

I,m not back to work till 13th April, so will be able to get some overdue chores done - hubbies lads are in first thing Monday to rip down a wall in the house - weird angled wall that did form part of a chimney, that went years ago, so makes more room in the bedroom.

Steak pie and mash for dinner.

Off to strip beds now - have a warm and dry day x
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Thanks camelot

redruby I'll do a search for those vests, thanks. He's going to be overloaded :D He has a collar with an info tag, saying he's microchipped with the phone number on. We've just bought a name tag with our surname and phone number on (one digit is wrong so we'll have to go back and change it). Plus he wears a harness when we're out. He's decorated, we just need fairy lights now :D

The car passed it's MOT, phew! Had a nice peaceful afternoon til master tru came home and started taking the racking out of the van - he was hammering and drilling and clattering about, making far too much noise. Still, it's done now and he has room for all his tools. He wanted to rearrange it all to suit his things, but it was all welded/riveted so was useless. No loss really, he wasn't looking for a van with racking and was surprised it was there when he went to view it.

Love how Lidl responded to whats-his-name leaving one direction – they knocked a fifth off the price of the 1D easter egg :rotfl:

It's raining this morning so the washing will have to be hung indoors. Mr tru has covered the planted area of the veg patch with netting, it's a foot from the ground and drapes down the sides. All the birds have given up, but Partridge Pete just pushes it to one side with his head and digs up the onions :D We'll peg it down with tent pegs today. Not sure how walks will go today, Scampi seems to hate the rain. He'll get used to it eventually but I think we'll be mostly indoors today.

Good Morning All,

I do hope that everyone is well.
Gers enjoy your last day.

Snowing here this morning!!!!!

Quiet day planned for me, i don't have a very big list of chores today so i am hopeful of getting some me time especially as DH is not coming home for lunch today, that frees up a little more time.

I might do a little bit of baking later but only if i can be bothered.

Best go and make a start,

Have a warm, safe and happy day

Regards
:j
• Morning ((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))if you need one.

Gers I hope you have a wonderful retirement. I was 62 when I hung up my pinny. I can honestly say I do not miss working one bit.

Its wet here, this morning is the day they re-inter Richard III bones in the Cathedral. I feel sorry for the people who are going to be in the 2 processions, they are going to get very wet!!

OH off across to Tesco to get the Mirror for the voucher, it will be next week before I get to do my shopping.

Off to the quilting class this afternoon and then tomorrow after doing the Friday clean I am off to see my quilting friend.

Enjoy your retirement - you deserve it. :j

Strange without DD but she needs help and tests and treatment and we could not cope any more. Visited her yesterday, topped up her phone and brought her more pjs and a couple of outfits and she seemed resigned to the fact she needs help and treatment.

DH had a cooked breakfast and is now polishing off a cheese sandwich but still can't get weight on him for love or money.

Have fish I baked yesterday for DH's lunch later on and might make myself a toastie. Have no idea what to make tonight but will defrost some mince or see what DH could manage to eat.

Enjoying peace and quiet and trying to put ourselves back together after all the fear and worry over the last months.

Hugs to all

• Just popping back on for a quickie. Youngest DGD4 here, practicing her reading with MrTA. The other two are due after their swimming club. They are always starving after swimming so a big Shepherd's Pie is going in the oven shortly. Along with peas, carrots & Yorkshire Puds. No doubt it will be ice cream for afters, as always!

Thanks nmic for the tips on gas leaks. We should have more time to check it all out on Monday. MrTA wondered if the hose could be starting to perish so may get that replaced to be on the safe side. Last time it was replaced it was because the squirrels had chewed through it!! The chap at the gas sales place said they do it to get a "high"!!!

Is your last day over yet Gers? Have a wonderful retirement and make sure you enjoy every minute of it!

Have a good evening everyone x

Nice day just pottering about Tomorrow I am doing my last shop of the month I had some w8rose vouchers through the post with money off lamb plus £6.00 off a £30.00 shop so I may go and have a nosey and see what's avaialble. My friend popped the Aldee voucher through the letter box for me even though I said I really didn't need it ,but it was a nice thought.Have no need to use it at the moment as my cupboards are pretty well stocked with basic bits, but I'll see what its like next Thursday as its available for a week.If I don't need it I will pass it on to someone else.

DD's big charity walk this weekend and I am taking my DGS to cheer her in on Saturday. She has even managed to squeeze some sponsorship from some of her landlords(she is a lettings agent for an estate agents ) Bless her, I am so proud of her :):):)

Been a cold and wet day here today and the gardener didn't arrive ,but he did ring me to say it wasn't worth coming because of the weather so I wasn't too bothered.
I hope gers has her feet up and a nice glass of vino collapsio in her hand as now your life can really take off and I do wish you all the best for your retirement
