DIY classes

Options
Hi
I'm not sure if this question is best here or on the local boards but hopefully some one can help. Does anyone know of any basic DIY classes in the Fife area or of any webites that would help me find one. I've been on the local college sites and none of them seem to provide any basic evening classes covering topics like painting, decorating, plumbing and wiring. In a couple of months I'm moving to a new house that needs a lot of work done and I would like to be able to do some of it myself, I'm fed up of waiting on my other half to get on with things, I think it's about time I learnt to do some basics myself!

TIA

Good morning: Have you tried the Learndirect website?

Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)
  • You don't need to go and do a course for many of the things that you want to learn. You can learn most of it from here-

    DIY Help

    specific pages-

    DIY electrics

    DIY plumbing

He is supposed to be adding some diy video tutorials to the site as well, but he said that months back and still no sign of them :p

In South Wales our local DIY Shed (B&Q Warehouse) does regular demos on all sorts of DIY. They're not very intense but full off handy hints.:o

Wow thanks for all the replies, I like the idea of sessions at B&Q, I've tried the learn direct website, but unfortunatly no classes in the area but thanks for the tip. I've found many sites on diy through MSE but I like to be see something being done infront of me and then give it a go with some support. Lacking in confidence to give it a go all on my own!

and LOL eco friendly I'm not lazy, my other half says he knows how to do something and that he will fix it then dosn't do it. On my part its just lack of knowledge not effort.

I really apreciate all the replies thank you
