The former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker Dion Dublin has been unveiled as a new presenter for the BBC’s daytime property series Homes Under the Hammer.
Dublin, praised for his “infectious enthusiasm for property”, will join original presenters Martin Roberts and Lucy Alexander on the 19th series, following properties bought at auction as they are renovated and then sold.
Dublin, who has worked as a pundit, released a Christmas album and invented a new percussion instrument called The Dube since retiring as a player, said: “I am thrilled to be joining Martin and Lucy on Homes Under The Hammer. I have a passion for property and look forward to meeting people on the show who share that passion.”
Lisa Hazlehurst, executive producer for Lion Television Scotland, said: “Dion’s enthusiasm for property is infectious and we’re really excited he is joining Homes Under The Hammer, which has proved such a hit with audiences for more than a decade.”
Interesting.... Homes under the hammer clearly promotes HPI, I wonder if Dion's enthusiasm for property will help boost the HPI gravy train.:D

I have never heard of a Dion Dublin. Who is she?
Why go for some unknown slip of an Irish girl when Clarkson's now available? He would probably enhance the program. He would literally take all the slums in England and put those homes under a hammer or wrecking ball.
I perceive an expert crane driver (with wrecking ball) called "The Dig" who can take a 4-bed detached down in 3 minutes, and then go to take on the challenge of a 3-bed semi, or a mid terrace....
The star in a reasonably priced car would have to go, but there's scope for a Scouse in a reasonably priced house, or Chav in a reasonably priced Gaff.

I thought they might be finally getting rid of the 80's shouty man. No such luck.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Does Dion Dublin know anything about property? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

All the other two presenters know about property is:
Read the legal pack
Knock every internal wall out
Profit = highest estate agent guess - (auction price + liar's renovation budget). Definitely do not factor in selling or financing costs.0 -
No mention of his time at Coventry City0

More than he knows about Football 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
Anyone that headbutted Robbie Savage is alright by me.
Anyway, a footballist must know loads about houses. They can afford enough of them. I think that quite a few ex-soccerballians lost their shirts to BTL in the GFC.0 -
John Terry didn't do to bad making £10m on his house in Oxshott.0
