Parkingeye county court claim form received but it has a different license plate help

Hi all, I received a couple of parking eye letters which I ignored and have now received the Northampton county claim form. It has however indicated that it captured a vehicle with a completely different registration number to my vehicle.


I have tried to read through the stickies however I am a tad confused about how I can handle this specific case.

Any advice would be vastly appreciated!

    as in completely different.. different year, each letter is different, no similarities at all.

    If the papers refer to a different vehicle and there is no contradictory photos, then you have a really easy court win with costs.

    And you have actual stamped CCJ papers from a court ?

    They'll be claim papers not CCJ papers ... the CCJ only comes after a hearing and the defendant loses.

    But fair point - make sure they are properly stamped claims. It's not unheard of for PPCs to send unstamped papers or photocopies.

    Statement of Defence:


    The Claimant asserts that I can be held liable, under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, for a parking charge issued to vehicle reg. AA99BBB.


    I am not, and have never been, the registered keeper of any vehicle with that VRN. My current vehicle, of which I am the registered keeper, and was at the material time, has the VRN XX88YYY.


    This claim therefore discloses no cause of action, and I request the Court of its own volition to strike out the claim, as having no prospect of success.

    I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

    Thanks for all of your responses. Yes the county court stamp is here.

    However looking closer things get a bit more confusing. The claim form I received has a completely different license plate number AND parking charge reference number compared to the first parking eye letter that I ignored.


    What does this mean then?

    To summarize: Letter direct from ParkingEye that asked for 100£ fine has my license plate number and a corresponding reference number.

    The County Claim Form letter has my name and address but completely different Licence plate number and reference number.

    It means the overworked (sign 500 a day) solicitor has filled it in wrong


    or someone did,nt pay the computer repair man


    they have mixed your case with another, someone else has got paperwork with your car reg on it
